Hadhdhunmathee Atoll is an oval shaped southern atoll in the Maldives, also referred to as Laamu Atoll. It measures 48 km in length and 35 km in width, and has some of the top dive sites in the world such as Guraidhoo and Gan; this Maldives Atoll is situated 32 southeast of Kolhumandulu Atoll and 95 km north of Huvadhoo Atoll.

Gnaviyani Atoll of the Maldives is a slightly skewed tear-shaped natural Atoll, covering a surface area of roughly 1160 km2. The outer perimeter of this Maldives Atoll contains a series of reefs; four large , extended reefs and another four smaller reefs peppered with deep passages and channels leading to a deep, inner lagoon. Depths inside the Atoll range between 5 - 70 meters, with an average depth of around 30 meters.

Like most Atolls of the Maldives, the inner lagoon at Hadhdhunmathee contains numerous smaller reefs, particularly in the south close to the islands of Hithadhoo and Gadhoo.


There are also several small lagoon basins in the north east, and the Atolls largest island Isdhoo is also found here. Laamu Atoll has numerous world famous diving sites to offer, such as Hithadhoo and Gan.


Most of the islands at Hadhdhunmathee Atoll are found in the south and the east; the northern and western rim is mainly comprised of reef flats.


The natural composition of this Maldives Atoll attracts a diverse mix of Maldives marine life - sharks, manta rays, schools of fish, turtles, shrimps and the hard and soft coral formations are simply a treat to look at.


Gan is a top diving island in Hadhdhunmathee Atoll, bustling with marine life along the channel entrances and dazzling coral reef formations. It is especially known for the dive options it provides scuba divers, and it also has feature packed areas for the novice diver or snorkeler.
